FOREIGN TRAVELERS
The JR West Rail Pass is a special discount ticket for persons who have a passport issued by a government or other authority outside Japan, as well as customers who have come to Japan with "Temporary Visitor" residence status (15-day period of stay). However, persons from countries with visa exemptions, such as the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Sweden, and New Zealand can buy the pass even with a 90-day period of stay in Japan.

The "Temporary Visitor" entry status/stamp is the only valid stamp which will qualify travelers to use the JR West Rail Pass. According to Japanese Immigration Law, "Temporary Visitor" status allows a traveler to stay for up to 90 days.

You must also have an Embarkation/Disembarkation Card for departure from Japan, as well as a return ticket of airline or ship.

If you do not have a non-Japanese passport, you may not buy any pass other than the JR Universal pass.
 
 
 
 
   
   
 
Puchase an Exchange ticket before you go to Japan.
After you arrive in Japan, present your Exchange ticket to obtain your JR West Rail Pass.
 
 
 
   
   
 
PERIOD
 
 
1.
You must exchange your Exchange Order for a JR West Rail Pass within three months from the date of issue.
2.
1-Day validity period: 1 day
2-Day validity period: 2 consecutive days
3-day validity period: 3 consecutive days
4-day validity period: 4 consecutive days
8-day validity period: 8 consecutive days
3.
Once a Pass' starting date has been set, it cannot be changed.

SANYO AREA PASS
 
 
RAILWAYS
Valid for traveling to Osaka, Okayama, Hiroshima, Hakata and other sightseeing places in the Sanyo area via any of the following trains operated by West Japan Railway Co.
Nozomi, Hikari, Kodama Sanyo Shinkansen super express trains
Haruka limited express trains
Ordinary cars of local trains (both reserved and free seating)
FERRY
Miyajima ferry line in Hiroshima.
 
     
 
KANSAI AREA PASS
 
 
RAILWAYS
Valid for traveling to Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara, Himeji and other sightseeing places in the Kansai area via local trains (rapid service and new rapid service trains can also be used) operated by JR West Railway Co.

It can not be used for boarding Shinkansen super express trains. When boarding a train other than a Shinkansen super express train, such as a limited express or express train it is necessary to separately pay the applicable charges for these and other trains.
 
 
 
   
   
 
A reserved seat can only be used by receiving a reserved -seat ticket (at no extra charge) at a ticket office (midori-no-madoguchi) at stations of the West Japan Railway Co. before boarding the train.
 
 
 
   
   
 
No items appearing on the Coupon may be altered.
 
 
 
   
   
 
The JR West Rail Pass can only be refunded at the exhange location prior to the starting date of use. For all refunds, a processing fee of 10% is deducted from the yen value of each pass. When the amount to be refunded comes to 210 yen or less, a minimum fee of 210 yen will be charged.
No refunds can be made for any reason on or after the designated starting date
No refunds are made on Passes in the event of train non-operation, delay, etc.
 
 
 
   
   
 
Neither an Exchange Order nor a JR West Rail Pass can be reissued if lost or stolen. Please take precautionary measures to ensure its safekeeping.
 
 
 
   
   
 
These and other usage conditions follow the West Japan Railway Co. passenger transportation regulations and Japanese laws. The validity of an Exhcnage Order during the period before it is submitted for a JR West Rail Pass, however, shall follow the stipulations and regulations of the company that issued the Exchange Order.
