Passengers with passports issued by governments other than Japan, with a status corresponding to "temporary visitor" in Japan as stipulated in Article 2 of the Immigration Control Act and Refugee Recognition Act.

Japanese nationals currently residing in a foreign country and who fall into one of the following categories:


	1.	Hold foreign permanent resident status

	2.	Have spent at least 10 consecutive years in a foreign country

	3.	Are married to a foreigner and living in a foreign country

The Coupon may be exchanged for a Japan Rail Pass at any time within a period of three months (inclusive) from the date of issue.

The Coupon is not valid for JR trains and other services.
It must be exchanged for a Japan Rail Pass prior to use.

The Coupon can be exchanged for a Japan Rail Pass at following locations:

	JR Travel Service Centers at Narita Airport (open 7:00AM - 9:00PM)

	Kansai International Airport (open 5:30AM - 11:00PM)

	JR Travel Service Centers at the following stations: (normal open hours 10:00AM - 6:00PM, but times may vary at some locations)

	Sapporo, New Chitose Airport, Hakodate, Asahikawa, Kushiro, Obihiro, Misawa, Sendai, Yamagata, Niigata, Fukushima, Tsukuba, Tokyo, Ueno, Shinjuku, lkebukuro, Shibuya, Yokohama, Shin-Yokohama, Odawara, Mishima, Shizuoka, Hamamatsu, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Shin-Osaka, Sannomiya, Kanazawa, Hiroshima, Okayama, Shimonoseki, Takamatsu, Matsuyama, Kokura, Hakata, Oita, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Miyazaki, and Nishi-Kagoshima.

	Note: Some Centers are closed on Sundays and holidays.

Present the Coupon together with your passport to receive the Japan Rail Pass.

The starting date for the Japan Rail Pass must be within (3) months from the date of issue of the Coupon.

Please note that seat reservations cannot be made outside of Japan.
Seat reservations can be made only when you have received the Japan Rail Pass itself or if you are a member of "World Eki Net".

No items appearing on the Coupon may be altered.

The Coupon can be refunded within one year from the date of issue at the point of purchase only.
A fixed handling charge as well as communication charges will be deducted.

The Japan Rail Pass can be refunded if presented at any of the JR designated Travel Service Centers listed in paragraph 3 prior to the starting date. A handling fee of 10% is charged on the Yen value of the pass. The Japan Rail Pass will not be refunded on or after its starting date under any circumstances.

The Japan Rail Pass will not be reissued if lost or stolen. Please take precautionary measures to ensure its safekeeping.

The Japan Rail Pass is issued subject to JR passenger transport regulations and Japanese laws.

A Japan Rail Pass is strictly limited to the assigned individual; it is not transferable from one person to another.

Be prepared to show your passport if requested, to validate your Rail Pass.

Refund of Rail Pass VOUCHERS

If a voucher has not been exchanged for the actual Pass, it may be refunded through the distributor office through which it was purchased, within one year of the date of issue. An handling fee may be applicable. Before purchasing your Rail Pass voucher, find out the distributor's refund policy and handling charges.

Refund Of The Actual JAPAN RAIL PASS

Once the voucher has been exchanged for the actual Pass, it may be refunded only if turned in prior to the first date of validity. Passes are refunded at exchange offices, for a 10% handling fee.

	* No refunds can be made for any reason on or after the designated starting date.

	* No refunds are made on Passes in the event of train non-operation, delay, etc.

Passes cannot be reissued if lost or stolen, so please take necessary precautionary measures.

Before exchange, the distributor office governs all stipulations and regulations of the voucher.
After exchange, the Pass complies with all laws and regulations set by the Japan Railways Group Passenger Transportation rules. Please note this distinction.
