FOREIGN TRAVELERS
The Kyushu Rail Pass is a special discount ticket for travelers visiting Japan from foreign countries for sight-seeing purposes only. Travelers with working, student, trainee, entertainer, cultural, government (military) visas will not qualify for the Kyushu Rail Pass.
The "Temporary Visitor" entry status/stamp is the only valid stamp which will qualify travelers to use the Kyushu Rail Pass. According to Japanese Immigration Law, "Temporary Visitor" status allows a traveler to stay for up to 90 days. |

If you do not have a non-Japanese passport, you may not buy any pass other than the JR Universal pass. |

Fill out an application form and puchase an Exchange ticket before you go to Japan.
After you arrive in Japan, present your Exchange ticket to obtain your JR Kyushu Rail Pass. |

You must exchange your Exchange Order for a JR Kyushu Rail Pass within three months from the date of issue. |

LINES OF SERVICE
|

RAILWAYS |
Valid for all train lines, including local, express and limited express, operated by the Kyushu Railway Company, any number of times while the pass is valid. The pass cannot be used for the Sanyo Shinkansen (Hakata - Kokura), sleeping berths.
|
BUSES |
The pass cannot be used for the JR Kyushu bus lines. |

NOTE: |

Any usage of connecting or other train lines operated by companies other than Kyushu Railway will be charged normally. |

The pass is valid for ordinary car reserved and open seating on Kyushu Railway Company limited express trains and express trains, and open seating on local trains (including local express trains) It can also be used on the Kyushu Shinkansen.
When riding in Green Cars (excluding private compartments) you will be required to pay applicable Green and limited express train fares.

When reserved seats are full, you should use a non-reserved seat. In this case, no refund can be made of the price difference between a reserved seat and a non-reserved seat. |

An Exchange Order that has not been submitted for a JR Kyushu Rail Pass can be returned to the office where it was purchased for a refund, within one year of the date of issue. In such cases, a handling fee and commmunication fee will be subtracted from the refund. |

Once the voucher has been exchanged for the actual Pass, it may be refunded only if turned in prior to the first date of validity. Passes are refunded at exchange offices, for a 10% handling fee.
|
|
|
|
No refunds can be made for any reason on or after the designated starting date. |
|
|
|
No refunds are made on Passes in the event of train non-operation, delay, etc. |
|
|
|
|
|

| |
Neither an Exchange Order nor a JR Kyushu Rail Pass can be reissued if lost or stolen. Please take precautionary measures to ensure its safekeeping. |

These and other usage conditions follow the JR Kyushu Railway passenger transportation regulations and Japanese laws. The validity of an Exhcnage Order during the period before it is submitted for a JR Kyushu Rail Pass, however, shall follow the stipulations and regulations of the company that issued the Exchange Order. |
